This is a great DIY to follow on changing trans fluid. I simply did mine recently and also the to fill bolt because that the 3.5 is just behind the intake water tap on peak of the transmission. Its a large silver bolt with ATF composed on it, can"t miss it.
Also, the is a ache to acquire that bolt off. It took two 1/2 customs extensions, a 17mm 8pt socket, and an 18 inch breaker bar. Together for the trans fluid go ahead with the DW-1, I placed that in mine and also I have noticed smoother shifts and a little better acceleration. I finished up putting in around 3.25 quarts even though it says 3.5 in ~ change. Begin with putting in 3 quarts, check it and add from over there til the is in between the two dots at operation temp. Expect this helps you out.
Is there a factor you didn"t fill through the infection dipstick hole? just wondering..as that method has constantly worked for me in the past, exact same as in the thread referenced above..
Because that is daunting to reach and remove choose he said. The dipstick an approach take a lot much more time, however for the DIY guys, let"s make it as "easy" as possible and relocate on v life.
Ok folks, you re welcome don"t flame me too hard. More:And make certain you rod the 3/8 driver every the way in. Friend know, where the round clicks. The bolt is tight (for the an initial time) and also you will certainly be pulling hard. I read that the speak is 60lbs come 80lbs. Yes, it needs to be tight, however IMO, no that tight. If girlfriend lift weights, obtain a feel for just how that feels. Simply tighten it whereby it is really tight, and you deserve to remove it the following time. Then again, every one of us room at different strength, therefore the over mean different things to different people.

Ok folks, thanks for all the advice. However I ended up calling a friend of mine in ~ a dealership. The faxed me the transmission exploded view. I found the to fill plug with tiny trouble. Yes, it to be quite tough to rest loose. I used a 1/2" breaker bar and quite a little of effort. (I don"t recognize why it had actually to be so tight.) after I evidenced that I can get the to fill plug off, ns drained the fluid. Re-filled it v 3 litres (quarts) the the Honda fluid. Then lugged it as much as operating temperature and checked the level. It to be perfect right in between the dots.Just a side note; i don"t think I would ever try and fill the fluid through the dipstick tube. It would certainly take also long and probably be fairly messy. And besides, the fill plug is really accessible for this reason why wouldn"t you usage it? all in all, an extremely easy to do. Currently onto the public with the same job. Many thanks everyone.
