I have a 2004 grand prix gt and also its over heater only when im in ~ a prevent with that in drive or park. I have coolant in my reservoir, the fans absent on periodically i gain cold waiting blowing the end of heater. I tried that tonight and i acquired hot wait blowing the end of heater but still end heating. Any help is appreciated.

as soon as the vehicle is cool take the radiator lid off and see what the level is. If it seems low include a lil bit. But the proper way is to leaving the radiator lid off, turn the auto on, when running fill the radiator up v coolant to just listed below the to fill neck, once vehicle is about warmed as much as temp the coolant will burp the end of the to fill neck if full, right now put the cap ago on. Sounds to me choose your low on coolant and possibly a poor thermostat. However would check coolant level deff. Precise same problem i had actually with mine 01 gt, low coolant/bad thermostat. Low coolant due to leaking elbows.

not yet. No to smart about engines thats why im right here haha. I dont know any kind of locations the the elbows at all.

walk to the find box and type in coolant elbows. Many of threads about them. They are located on the left side, as if you to be standing in fromt that the vehicle, next of the motor. 2 black 90* elbows. If they are leaking, girlfriend will know it. If not, climate you may have bigger difficulties on your hands.

who told me that coolant evaporates? and also should inspect it every 6 month to a year?So what your saying is you need to NEVER shed coolant?

coolant can evaporate or burn off, yet these motors have worry with leaking coolant into the motor, and also blowing it up. Do you odor anti frozen strongly as soon as you open up the hood? or around the car? is there any spot on the ground whereby anything has actually dripped?

No ns dont smell it nor carry out i view any. This summer i had my water pump changed. (they may have not to fill it totally idk) I use dexcool orange 50/50. I additionally have aluminum intakes and not the plastic ones. 3800 series III. Ns was told the over the years the plastic join wear which permits coolant right into the engine. My intakes room aluminum.

therefore in a week or two, remove radiator cap once its cold? and also i have to see coolant at the height correct? if its not at the peak then im leaking somewhere?
